Food Truths

Today on the show I welcome Michele Payn of Cause Matters Corporation to the show! We talk about her new book, “Food Truths From Farm to Table: 25 Surprising Ways to Shop & Eat Without Guilt.

In a way, you could think of my conversation with Michele as a sort of “bookend” to the conversation I had in Episode 91 with Leah McGrath. We touch on similar themes like deceptive marketing in the grocery store, but go a little deeper and cover how meat, poultry, and dairy are handled and how we can start to overcome the “guilt” we feel when our neighbors catch us in the grocery store and peek in our shopping cart. One thing is clear; Michele is a passionate advocate for agriculture (she has raised Holsteins her entire life) and educating consumers about agricultural practices.

I think the message that Michele delivers is as important as ever to home cooks who are confronted daily with a barrage of food claims. Food Truths from Farm to Table will help consumers make better-informed choices and provides a wealth of resources so readers can read up on the science and draw their own conclusions.
