In today’s show I address the question of what items every home cook should have in their pantry or fridge. This was a tough episode to put together because it was very hard to narrow it down to just ten (or so) items. I recruited my wife to help me and we came up with one essential list, and then an additional list of additional items for each of us. I also shared feedback from some facebook and twitter friends on what they consider essential items, so be sure to listen to this episode to hear all of their responses! Here are the lists that Traci and I came up with:

Primary pantry/fridge list:

Rice
Pasta
Eggs
Cheese
Flour
Beans
Broth (chicken or vegetable)
Canned chicken
Bread
Tomato sauce

Roger’s Additional Item List:
Vinegar
Worcestershire sauce
Soy sauce
Wine
Honey
Canned tomatoes
Potatoes
Onions
Garlic
Hot sauce

Traci’s Baking List:
Flour
Butter
Eggs
Baking powder/soda
Sugar (both white granulated & brown)
Vanilla
Cinnamon
Chocolate chips
Cocoa powder
