Today I’m joined by Leah McGrath, a Registered Dietitian and advocate for a science and fact-based approach to food and nutrition. It seems you can’t go to the grocery store or get online these days without being bombarded with a huge variety of food claims; miracle diets, deadly foods, detoxes/cleanses, to name just a few. How does one start to make sense of it all? I had Leah on the show to discuss these topics which are of interest to those of us looking to buy and prepare good food for ourselves and our families.
In this discussion Leah and I talk about:
- Marketing tricks in the supermarket, and Leah’a advice when reading labels
- Organic vs. conventional produce; what’s the difference?
- How worried should we be when we hear about scary food studies?
- Questions and concerns about GMO foods
If you’ve ever had questions on any of these topics you will definitely find something to think about in this episode.
